The new Volunteer Officer for Healthwatch Dorset says she is looking forward to recruiting more people to join the organisation to help shape local health and care services.

Holly Drinkwater, from Boscombe, has joined the county’s independent health and care champion Healthwatch Dorset and her main role will be focusing on recruiting new volunteers and supporting existing ones.

The 26 year old previously worked for Live Well Dorset as an Engagement Coordinator and Training Lead, running events to talk to people about health and wellbeing.  In her spare time, she is a volunteer herself at the Wave Project – helping young people boost their confidence and wellbeing through surfing and beach activities.

Holly said: “I find working in the health and charity sector very rewarding and get a real kick out of helping others.

“I’m looking forward to being able to bring all of my skills and knowledge of working with volunteers to this role and making the most of what it has to offer. I’m really looking forward to getting out there to meet all the current volunteers and supporters and build on what Healthwatch Dorset already has in place.”
